On December 17th, 2019 at the Mayflower Hotel in Washington, D.C., the Senior Executives Association (SEA) will host the Presidential Rank Awards Leadership Summit to provide exceptional educational, mentoring, and networking opportunities for current and aspiring SES members and senior leaders.
Summit participants will have unparalleled access to private and public sector thought leaders and the opportunity to exchange ideas for advancing public service excellence.
The conference will also recognize the extraordinary public service of senior career professionals by honoring the 2019 awardees with the nation’s highest civilian career leadership awards:
Distinguished Rank Recipients: Given to only one percent of career Senior Executive Service (SES) members or SES equivalents. Distinguished Rank recipients are recognized for sustained extraordinary accomplishments.
Meritorious Rank Recipients: Awarded to 5 percent of career SES or SES equivalents, Meritorious Rank recipients are recognized for outstanding achievement to enhance the mission of their agency.
Awardees' Impact By the Numbers
The Presidential Rank Awards represent the top award a civilian federal employee can receive. The awards are given by the President of the United States to exemplary federal leaders who have overseen successful federal initiatives with a sweeping impact.
OF SENIOR EXECUTIVE SERVICE MEMBERS
Distinguished Presidential Rank Award Winners represent the top-performing one percent of Senior Executive Service members. Winners often boast accomplishments that have saved taxpayers multiple millions of dollars.

Based on a review of 2017 PRA winners' accomplishments, SEA-PDL estimates the average budget overseen by Presidential Rank Award winners from 2017 was nearly $13 billion, with winners overseeing teams and budgets that often compare to those managed by some Fortune 500 companies.

"The 2017 Presidential Rank Award honorees include at least two Nobel Prize winners; scientists who have revolutionized their respective fields and, indeed, created new ones; career leaders who have made decisions impacting huge swaths of our economy; and heroic members of the federal law enforcement community who are leading the international effort to combat trafficking and global terrorism."
